Murmansk Regional Court punished head of educational and training center of Murmansk Fishery College Sergey Utkin and professors Irog Stirikh, Vasily Sergeyev and Alexander Mikhaylov.
Sergey Utkin assigned citizens who turned to the college, to the groups of educational and training center professors without either concluding any education contracts or admission orders. Then the accused entered false data into reports of qualifying commission. Thus fleet technicians were considered to have passed the exams even in case they did not undergo proper training.
The accused get money from the citizens as it were payment for studies. However the money was used on their own in contraversion with position description.
The court agreed with the arguments of public prosecutor and admitted Utking guilty in causing pecuniary loss by false pretences and in attempt of bribing. Utkin was sentenced to 3 years in prison (the sentence is suspended with a probation period of 2 years) and a 10000 fee.
Strikh was admitted guilty in bribing and in causing pecuniary loss by false pretences. He was sentenced to 3 years 6 months in prison (the sentence is suspended with a probation period of 2 years) and a 10000 fee.
Mikaylov was admitted guilty in causing pecuniary loss by false pretences. He was sentenced to a 6000 fee.
Sergeyev admitted guilty in causing pecuniary loss by false pretences. He was sentenced to a 6000 fee. He was released from punishment as the period of limitations had expired.
The sentence has taken legal effect.
